After i was convinced i would be going ahead and buying my first mac i.e macbook the next question where do i buy it from india or USA ?
Here is a Comparison taking into account the price mentioned on the respective website i.e Apple store website USA and price mentioned from Apple Store india without taking into account the Local tax duty etc etc
Buy it from USA ?
I would buy it From USA, after all 325$ you could buy lot of apple accessories or probably add 75$ more and you could even purchase iphone if you wish
it all comes down to would you be able to nag your Friend/ relative / distant uncle or aunty who traveling to USA or live their and paying you visit soon and yes its perfectly legal

if you would buy from USA what about warranty/guarantee ?
i had bought my sony vaio from USA too it had global warranty which was valid in india as well so i am guessing it would be same case with Apple that its wararanty would be global need to check up on this just to confirm

I wish i saw your post earlier but then it might not have made a difference! i want to mention one point which i just bitterly learnt. having bought a mac from a friend a few days ago there is one fact that was overlooked - there is a sales tax of $100 which pretty much knocks off about equivalent of Rs 4000 in savings (this is for the entry level macbook 1GB ram/120 GB hdd). i really am so upset. the second point is are India prices on apple website including or excluding VAT? hopefully that will make it up
